Why?

I have been completely off of social media for over a year now. It’s great. It saves me time, stops my brain being chemically altered by an algorithm, and allows me to focus on living in the real moments of my life. But I did love some aspects of social media. Especially as an outlet for self expression. I have always loved expressing myself through words and the absence of social media resulted in the absence of expressing my writing for others to read.

Who?

The question, “who?” is multifaceted in this instance. That word could be followed by “who is this for?” Or, “who is the person writing this?” I will start by answering the first question. This site, these words are for us. They are for the people in my life that inspire and push my mind and my outlook on life. A link to this site is access to my second brain, to my thought process, and to the insights that I historically have hid from the rest of the world. I hope you feel honored to have a link to read this. I am honored to have you in my life.
So the second question: who am I? Of course, those that were sent the link directly know who I am, but my goal of this is to share ideas not about my life or my day to day activities. In the hierarchy of thoughts, the ones that do not relate directly to me are the ones I find the most fun in pursuing. So while there is a singular author behind this text, my goal is for that construct to be dispelled as you read and engage in the words and thoughts that I present. Which leads to the final question: what is this?

What?

By making my thoughts relatively public, I am able to challenge my own ideologies in the process. These pages serve as a working thesis on life’s big ideas. They are conversation-spurred essays, one liners that I think of in the shower, questions that I have not found the answer to yet. Maybe some bad poetry thrown in there who knows. This site is a public account for my struggle in searching for the capital-t Truth. I don’t know the destination yet for this site, my ideas, or my life in general for that matter. By documenting my thoughts on life’s big questions, I hope to get one step closer in understanding the world we live in and my own role within that world.
